The premiere of the new Mazda CX-80 is scheduled for late 2023, but in the meantime, we have these spy shots to judge its appearances by.
The disguise on the three-row SUV is rather impervious, but those familiar with the marque’s other crossovers will immediately notice the similarities.
The CX-80 is envisioned as a seven-seat alternative to the recently introduced CX-60 model (see video). The basic platform is the same, but the wheelbase is longer. The CX-60 is currently being sold with a 2.5-liter IC engine assisted by an electric motor for 327 PS (323 hp / 241 kW) total. As an alternative, you can get a mild diesel hybrid with 254 PS (251 hp / 187 kW). It remains to be seen whether the CX-80 gets either of these drivetrain options.
