Mercedes-Benz has begun accepting preorders for its all-new GLC with EQ Technology. Only the GLC 400 modification introduced earlier this fall in Munich is available, and it starts from €71,281.
The automaker argues that the pricing is “on par” with the gas-powered GLC lineup. The EV uses dual e-motors to drive all four wheels with a combined 489 PS (482 hp / 360 kW). A 94-kWh battery pack provides it with 715 km (444 miles) of range, and charging from a powerful enough source for just 10 minutes replenishes enough for another 303 km (188 miles).
In its most basic form, the GLC 400 4matic comes equipped with adaptive LED headlights, a panoramic roof, an infotainment system based on two displays 10.3 and 14 inches large, heated seats and climate control. Paying top trim money gets you a giant MBUX Superscreen display, assorted exterior backlight, a Burmeister audio system and massage-enabled seats. Opting for the traditional AMG Line package replaces the wheels and the bumpers while adding sporty accents to the cabin.
Moving forward, Mercedes plans to introduce four more GLC variants. Two of them are slated for launch this year.
