The legendary action movie Mad Max: Road of Rage is getting a prequel named ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’. It will explore the story of its titular heroine and will hit the big screens next spring. Oh, and all the post-apocalyptic stuff including crazy cars makes a comeback as well.
The main cast comprises Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy. Charlize Theron played Furiosa in the original movie from eight years ago, and director George Miller’s initial plan was to invite her for the prequel. However, this approach necessitating using CGI aggressively to make her look younger, and the director concluded that the technology wasn’t sophisticated enough yet.
Judging by the video, the new instalment of the saga remains faithful to its ‘postapocalyptic road movie’ formula. There are plenty of unique vehicles in it, including light passenger cars, ATVs, hot rods, monster trucks, as well as a massive tank truck and a fancy motorized chariot. Nothing has been revealed about the story so far.
