Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina has used the Monterey Car Week as an opportunity to reveal the final version of its first battery-powered hypercar, the Battista. Only 150 units will be made.
At €2,000,000 and above, the price tag comes close to that of the Bugatti Chiron, but the Battista boasts even more impressive technical specifications and performance. It comes in a black carbon-fiber body and looks nearly identical to its prototype version from two years ago. The driver enjoys access to three displays, but there is no infotainment touchscreen in the middle.
Propelled forward by quad electric motors, the track weapon commands 1,900 PS (1,874 hp / 1,397 kW) and 2,300 Nm (1,696 lb-ft) of torque. Outfitted like this, it needs less than two seconds to go 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) and less than 12 seconds to hit 300 km/h (186 mph). With a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph), it promises up to 500 km (310 miles) of ALTP-rated range thanks to a large 120-kWh traction battery.
If reading these specs reminded you of the Rimac Nevera, know that the similarity is not coincidental: the Croatian EV powertrain maker did, indeed, design the main components of the Battista. The electric system is identical to the one implemented in the Nevera, but the chassis and suspension are new and promise unparalleled handling on the track.
