Rolls-Royce recalling two Phantoms over a headlight issue

Rolls-Royce has initiated a recall campaign in the United States that sees exactly two Phantom sedans returning to the factory for minor headlight repairs.

Apparently, the headlight units on two vehicles produced on July 12 and July 14 this year were manufactured in violation of the adopted technology, with the reflective coating applied in a wrong way. As a result, the headlamps may not be able to properly illuminate the traffic signs ahead and overall output less light than some U.S. states specify as the minimum requirement.

The manufacturer learned about the defect a month ago from a parts supplier. Reportedly, no Rolls-Royce owners or chauffeurs were inconvenienced by the situation: neither of the two cars had been shipped by the moment the issue was discovered. The company says all repairs will have been finished by the time customers arrive.
