KGM, the Korean car company that inherited the rights to the SsangYong brand after its bankruptcy, has unveiled a new mid-size crossover named the Actyon.
In all fairness, though, the car is little more than a rebadged Torres. SsangYong introduced the Actyon nameplate in 2005, but largely discontinued it in 2011, only keeping it alive in a few countries around the world. The name is making a global comeback now – both in South Korea and abroad.
The new KGM Actyon is a mid-size crossover utility vehicle that’s 4,700 mm (183.6 inches) long, 1,890 mm (73.9 inches) wide and 1,720 mm (67.2 inches) tall with 2,680 mm (104.7 inches) between the axles.
According to rumors, the powertrain will be hybrid and based on a 1.5-liter turbo engine. All-wheel-drive may not be an option.
We should learn more about the new Actyon when it debuts on official terms in August. All prices, trim details and specifications are pending, but dealerships in South Korea have already begun advertising the model, and preorders should open soon.
