Tesla Model 3 loses 19–50 horsepower in 2024 edition

Tesla has just facelifted its affordable Model 3 saloon, but never specified how much power the electric car has. As it turned out now thanks to the certification data uploaded to the Chinese Ministry of Industry, the numbers have dropped a bit.

Specifically, the entry-level/single-motor version of the Model 3 now makes 264 PS (260 hp / 194 kW), down 19 horses from the original 283 PS (279 hp / 208 kW). The dual-motor version is even worse off with 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) instead of 500 PS (493 hp /368 kW).

As for the Performance version, it hasn’t been revealed or certified yet, so its specs remain unknown. Before the model year update, it churned out 534 PS (527 hp / 393 kW).

Prices for the 2024MY Tesla Model 3 in China start from 259,900 Yuan (U.S. $35,700).
