Icon 4x4 turns a battered Land Cruiser into a capable modern SUV

Remember when media reported about a Toyota Land Cruiser FJ44 with around 780,000 miles (1,255,000 km) under its belt? Well, it has been restored to peak condition!

Icon 4x4 carried out the job as the final chapter of its Old School Edition restoration program. It swapped the SUV to a 6.2-liter GM V8 rated at 430 PS (424 hp / 316 kW) and 610 Nm (450 lb-ft) of torque. The engine links to a five-speed Aisin stick shift (Warner AX15) and benefits from an Atlas II dual-range transfer case.

Fox Racing coil-over suspension ensures smooth driving off-road, as do 18-inch wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich all-terrain tires sized 285/65.

Interior additions include sat-nav, an up-to-date audio system with Bluetooth support, a reversing camera, four leather-wrapped seats, and a couple of jump seats in the back.
