There are two distinct Yaris Cross variants in existence: the XP210, which is mainly sold in Europe, Japan and Australia, and the AC200, a wallet-friendlier version for South America and Southeastern Asia. The latter has now gained a limited edition in Thailand.
Called Nightshade, it debuted at the recently opened Thailand Motor Expo and had only visual tweaks to show for being unique. These included a horizontal grille insert, blacked-out trim bits all around, and a new optional exterior shade called Cement Gray Metallic. The only other option is white.
A peek inside reveals black eco-leather trim and little else of note. The Nightshade Edition corresponds to the top trim level of the Yaris Cross, which implies climate control, adaptive cruise control, lane control, 360-degree cameras and panoramic roof already included in the price. Aside from that, the car has a 10.1-inch multimedia touchscreen and a wireless charging pad.
The hybrid powertrain stays stock and delivers up to 111 PS (109 hp / 82 kW) to the front axle. Prices start from 919,000 Thai Baht, which currently converts into U.S. $28,787.
