Volkswagen has unveiled the facelift version of its compact-sized Saveiro pickup for South America. The model boasts improved looks, new equipment and revised front suspension. Sales in Brazil should begin later this year.
Compared to its predecessor (see video), the new truck sports different bumpers, lighting, a molded hood, new dashboard trim and fresh ornaments on the seats.
There is only one major technical novelty: new suspension springs and shocks. Thanks to these, the pickup rides 10 mm (0.4 inches) higher than before and should handle better. The engine remains unchanged, though, which in this case means a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated block rated at 106 PS (105 hp / 78 kW) running on petrol and 116 PS (114 hp / 85 kW) on ethanol fuel.
Rounding off the list is a new trim spec called Extreme. It includes additional equipment, an extended body kit, exclusive wheels, and new body color options.
