Volvo EX60 flashes taillight

Volvo has posted the first teaser pic of its upcoming EX60 EV, a zero-emission alternative to the still quite popular XC60 model set for early 2026 launch.

The image isn’t too revealing and really only shows one of the car’s taillights. It looks like a typical Volvo brake light, spanning the entire height of the tailgate with a shoulder-like crease in the middle. The badge lettering seems to be unchanged as well.
Things promise to get more interesting in the powertrain department. The new EX60 will be running on an architecture called the SPA3 – a modified version of the SPA2 platform underpinning the current EX90 and ES90 flagships. All details are pending, but we suppose Volvo could borrow some powertrain and battery components from its xx90 lineup.

For example, the recently introduced ES90 liftback is coming to us with 92 and 106-kWh battery options. Depending on the motor count and tune, the output may vary from 245 to 670 PS (from 242 to 661 hp; from 180 to 493 kW, accordingly). Once fully charged, the ES90 can cover up to 700 km (435 miles).
