Xpeng rushes to refresh the P7+ ahead of global launch

The Chinese automaker introduced the P7+ liftback last fall, so it’s a bit surprising seeing it being updated now. On the other hand, Xpeng plans to offer it in 36 countries around the world (the pre-facelift was China-only), so it’s understandable.

The full list of countries remains to be revealed, but the premiere took place in Paris, France, so Europe should be well-represented. Looking at the specs, the 2026 Xpeng P7+ is the same size as before, but 15 mm (0.6”) longer. That makes it 5,071 mm (198.1 inches) long.

Exterior changes boil down to a revised front bumper with aerodynamic louvers, a solid LED stripe running between the headlights, a similar brake light arrangement in the back, and a redesigned tailgate. The rest stays more or less the same.

Inside, the tiny digital dash screen is still there, but most instruments are now projected onto the windshield. The dashboard was reworked with horizontal climate vents instead of vertical, and new trim color options were added to the list.

The full powertrain specs haven’t been revealed yet. The pre-facelift car uses a single electric motor on the rear axle with either 245 or 313 PS (242 or 309 hp; 180 or 230 kW, respectively). Batteries come in three sizes ranging from 60.7 to 76.3 kilowatt-hours. Once fully charged, the 2026 Xpeng P7+ travels 725 km (450 miles) in CLTC cycle – same as before the update.

One big improvement of the new version is that it is also going to be available as a range-extender hybrid. To that end, it will receive a 150-PS (148-hp / 110-kW) petrol engine and an e-motor capable of 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW). Once full, it can go on for 1,550 km (963 miles) without topping up, Xpeng claims.
