Luxeed reveals its first premium saloon

Autohome.cn has published some preliminary information about the first production car of a newly announced Chinese premium vehicle brand, Luxeed. A patent application submitted by the company suggests that the car will be a business sedan and will be named S7.

Based on a platform known as E0X, it is 4,971 mm long, 1,963 mm wide and 1,474 mm tall with 2,950 mm between the axles.

The exterior looks rather typical for a China-made EV. There is a compact trunk lid spoiler, a couple of side mirrors mounted on curved stalks, and a dedicated area for an optional LiDAR above the windshield. The side glass and pull-out door handles resemble those of the Mercedes-Benz EQE and EQS.

Curiously enough, what appears to be a large and expensive car relies on a single electric motor to propel it forward with 292 PS (288 hp / 215 kW). The battery specs and driving range are still pending, but media in China believe the car should premiere later in Q3 2023.

Luxeed is a newborn premium car brand co-founded between Chery and Huawei. The former company is responsible for the architecture, powertrain and bodywork, while the latter handles all the electronics, including an SAE Level 3 self-driving system.
