As evidenced by these spy shots found on the Chinese social media by AutoHome.cn, Chery is getting ready to update its Tiggo 9 lineup. It is expected to debut in several days and go on sale non-hybridized first.
We are told that the hieroglyphs on the wrap indicate that the SUV is gas-powered, and we are going to take our Chinese colleagues’ word for that. It allegedly also mentions Falcon 700, an ADAS package considered Chery’s most advanced to date.
Based on the photos, the petrol-only Tiggo 9 will now look more like its hybrid counterparts, like the CSH version unveiled at the Auto Shanghai show this spring (see video). It may end up with a redesigned radiator grille, front bumper and possibly headlights.
AutoHome claims the refreshed Tiggo will continue to rely on a 2.0-liter engine rated at 261 PS (257 hp / 192 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Buyers will probably be able to choose between seven-speed DCT and automatic for the transmission.
