Rumor: Will Chevy Corvette Z06 hit production this weekend?

After a seemingly endless stream of spy photos, videos and rumors, we are all excited to see the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 come out at last. Reports are now coming in that the wait might be over this week.

According to users of midenginecorvetteforum.com, the Corvette factory in Bowling Green has entered the pre-launch stage of production and should be ready to start churning out pilot batch ‘Vettes later this week.

Even though pre-production tests samples have repeatedly been spotted in the USA, this alone does not mean the company is ready to start mass assembly. More optimization and streamlining of processes may be required before it.

It is official that the Z06 will arrive packing a brand-new engine, specifically a road-legal variant of the DOHC V8 mill powering the C8.R racer.
