GAC has started taking orders for the new generation of its GS3 SUV originally introduced in late 2022. According to AutoHome, the unusually styled model comes to the market with only one engine, but four trim levels ranging from 88,000 to 112,000 Yuan.
Sized 4,410 x 1,825 x 1,685 mm large with 2,650 mm of wheelbase, the newcomer is marginally larger than its preceding generation. Aside from this, it sports a seriously revised, edgier and more aggressive exterior. In the top ‘R’ spec, additional aerodynamic parts serve to highlight this new sporty design.
The interior, in contrast, is rather reserved and laconic. The infotainment system incorporates a 7-inch dash gauge screen and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. In China, the model will benefit from a large number of available online services and driving aids.
The only engine available is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-pot good for 177 PS (175 hp / 130 kW) and 270 Nm (201 lb-ft) of torque. The automatic transmission is gone, replaced by a seven-speed DCT, and there is still no all-wheel drive on offer. Going from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 7.5 seconds, and the top speed lies at 190 km/h (118 mph).
