Honda Civic Type R wins Sports Car of the Year 2019

The masters of the WTCR series have singled out their most favorite sports car following the final race on the Sepang International Circuit: the Honda Civic Type R.

The Audi S3 LMS, which won the 2018 award, came a close second, yielding only 169 points to the Honda. The Hyundai i30 N won bronze.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI, the Seat Cupra and the Alfa Romeo Giulietta occupied places from 4th to 6th.

As for the winner, the TCR specification of the Civic Type R comes powered by a two-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine rated at 340 hp (254 kW). A six-speed sequential transmission is used to push the torque to the wheels.
