German car house unveils new Hyundai i30 N boost kit

ASL Lichtblau GmbH, a car house located in Germany, has designed the so-called “Stage 3 Upgrade Turbokit” for the Hyundai i30 N. Once installed on the 2.0-liter turbo-four engine of the hot hatch, it takes its output from the standard 250 hp (186 kW) all the way up to 423 hp (315 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb×ft) of torque.

The main feature of the whole build is perhaps the thoroughly enhanced TurboZentrum turbine charger unit that now sports new rotor and housing made on a five-axis CNC machine, among other things.

Also included are an experimental Wagner Tuning intercooler, a custom downpipe, a Saro Exhaust catalyst exhaust system (200cpsi), and a chip tuning by Felix Hein.

According to ASL Lichtblau GmbH, the tuned-up Hyundai i30 N has no trouble exceeding 275 km/h (171 mph). In the future, the firm wants to equip the Korean vehicle with a water/methanol injection system and better coupling.
