Lancia showcases its latest concept in action

Lancia has posted a video confirming that its recently revealed Pu+Ra HPE Concept is an actual all-electric sports car and not just a life-size mock-up of one. Lancia CEO Luca Napolitano himself got behind the steering wheel of the car meant to show to us all what the company plans to bring to the market before 2030.

Napolitano called the Pu+Ra HPE ‘a manifesto for the next ten years.’ He pointed out that its exterior was a modern reinvention of Lancia’s classics of the past. For instance, the LED stripes at the front mimic the recognizable shapes of the company’s retro radiator grille, while the rear section is styled after the iconic Flamina and Aurelia models with some Stratos design cues thrown in as well.

Both the exterior and the cabin are revealed in great detail. Per Napolitano, the interior was mainly designed to look like a traditional Italian living room. The doors lack handles on the outside and rely on capacitive sensors instead. A display is built into the steering wheel hub that doesn’t rotate with the rest of the wheel.

Check out the full video to see a large dash display along with its UI, a laconic transmission tunnel and round table-like inserts between the seats.

In his message to all fans of the marque, Lancia boss confirmed that most of the design solutions seen in the concept will find use in actual production cars. They will be all-electric, have around 700 km (435 miles) of range per charge and replenish their batteries in around 10 minutes.
