Leapmotor B10 launches with 15k+ reservations in an hour

Chinese automaker Leapmotor has reported receiving 15,010 preorders for its B10 SUV EV. Interestingly enough, 73% of the buyers apparently opted for one of the top trims with a LiDAR and other premium features.

The B10 is Leapmotor’s first B lineup vehicle and also the first one to make use of the promising EV architecture known as the Leap 3.5. The car has a crossover body shape and is 4,515 mm (176.4 inches) long, 1,885 mm (73.6 inches) wide and 1,665 mm (65 inches) tall with 2,735 mm (106.9 inches) between the axles.

Customers in China are selecting from five available trims priced from 109,800 to 139,800 Yuan. The base version delivers 180 PS (178 hp / 132 kW) and 175 Nm (129 lb-ft) of torque to the rear axle from a single motor. It needs 9.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill.

All higher trim versions are bundled with a superior rear motor driving its two entrusted wheels with 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft). It’s notably faster to launch with a 6.8-second OEM-rated sprint time.

Batteries are made from LFP cells and come in two sizes – 56.2 and 67.1 kilowatt-hours. Their respective CLTC range ratings are 510 and 600 kilometers (317 and 373 miles). Charging from 30 to 80% takes around 20 minutes.
