Lexus may be a premium brand, but many owners just cannot resist the temptation to mod their cars to their liking. Have a look at this LX470 to see just how far things can go.

The SUV rolled off the assembly line back in 2005, but only received most of its mods last year. New suspension springs and shocks gave it 63mm (2.5”) of extra ride height, powerful LED-based lights at the front solved nighttime illumination issues, and robust metallic bumpers along with a winch were added for wilderness survival.

The luxury trailblazer rides on custom 17-inch alloys painted black and wrapped in grippy all-terrain tires. The roof houses a camping tent alongside a heated water tank for those times when you feel like taking a shower out in the wild. A full-fledged campervan this is not, but some steps were certainly taken in that direction.

The one fact that raises suspicions is that the car – which looks otherwise very well built and capable – is now up for grabs less than a year after the tuning. Maybe there are some shortcomings we just don’t know about…?
