Purple Maserati Ghibli draws inspiration from street fashion

Maserati has unveiled an ultra-rare Ghibli special edition called the Hybrid Love Audacious. Created in collaboration with CANOTWAIT_, a Chinese streetwear brand founded by actor, singer and fashion designer William Chan, the car owes its existence to the Maserati Fuoriserie customization program.

The centerpiece of the entire work is the color purple, which happens to be Chan’s favorite color. The automaker claims that the shade is commonly associated with luxury and exclusivity, as well as a kind of mystery.

The photos don’t convey it well, but the body is additionally sprinkled with a pigment containing glass particles that create a visual effect allegedly called ‘Digital Brilliance’. Aside from this, the Ghibli Love Audacious rocks 20-inch Teseo wheels and CANOTWAIT_ badges both outside and inside.

This specific example is currently being offered for sale in a store called popup in Shanghai. A total of eight such examples will be produced in total and sold in China exclusively. The company does mention that it might make more if it discovers the demand.
