Have a look at a rare Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren

A special Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition, one out of only 150 units made 16 years ago, will cross the auction block in the UK in early November. The selling price is estimated at £425,000–475,000 (U.S. $520,000–582,000).

The SLR supercar was co-designed between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren two decades ago and received the particularly powerful 722 Edition three years later (see video). It was dedicated to Stirling Moss and Dennis Jenkins winning the Mille Miglia race of 1955 and had their race start time in the name (7:22 in the morning).

The biggest improvement was under the hood, where the 5.4-liter V8 was boosted from 626 to 650 metric horsepower. As a result, the car needed 3.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) and could ultimately attain 337 km/h (209 mph). It also received upgraded suspension 10 mm (0.4”) lower than stock, stronger brakes and a more up-to-date interior trim compared to the standard SLR. Unique 19-inch wheels rounded off the list.

The current owner of the car had it from 2015. They claim it has been regularly maintained and repaired with all necessary parts swapped out for OEM substitutes in a timely manner. The latest maintenance was performed earlier this month and cost the owner around £20,000 ($24,500).
