Mitsubishi has been producing the Mirage hatchback in Thailand since 2012 and its sedan/saloon version – the Attrage – since 2013. The former is also known as the Space Star on some markets, while the latter is sometimes called the Mirage G4. Both will get a facelift in 2020.
The company will be unveiling the restyled cars on Monday, November 18, 2019. The main aesthetic change will be the shift towards Mitsubishi’s latest design philosophy called Dynamic Shield. The tech will likely remain unaltered, though. Both cars currently ship with the same 1.2-liter three-cylinder gas engine under the hood, good for 78 hp (58 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque. You may choose either five-speed manual transmission or CVT, but the drive will stay on the front axle no matter what.
In 2022 or thereabouts, Mitsubishi will be unveiling brand-new versions of the Mirage and Attrage based on the latest CMF-B architecture currently used by the Renault Clio, Captur and Nissan Juke. The company also considers returning the model name ‘Colt’ to the lineup in about three years from now.
