Drag Race: 2x Tesla Cybertruck vs. Light Plane

The organizing party behind the OrlandoSanford Airshow has held an exciting race between two Tesla Cybertrucks and an Extra EA-300 aerobatic monoplane. The video was posted by SethV Tube on YouTube.

Air shows in the United States often feature drag races between land vehicles and planes, but the hosts usually take care to pick contenders with similar powertrains or acceleration capabilities. This inevitably means that most of the time, only hardcore dragsters, hot rods and jet-engine time attack cars go up against their winged rivals.

This clearly wasn’t the case with the Cybertrucks. Capped at 209 km/h (130 mph) by their electronics, the trucks couldn’t keep up with the light plane and its 342 km/h (212 mph) top speed. They lost the race from the start, though the host was still impressed with their speed and said both were able to reach 225 km/h (140 mph), exceeding the number in the OEM spec sheet.
