Pagani reimagines the Utopia as a roadster

The Italian supercar maker has unveiled a new version of its Utopia supercar introduced in September 2022 (see video). It is an open-top modification of the coupe with a removable glass section where solid roof used to be. The full reveal will take place on August 9, and prices will start from eye-watering €3,100,000.

Per the company, modifying the roof without compromising the integrity of the rest of the car was trivial. As a result, the new roadster weighs exactly the same as the coupe version – 1,280 kilos (2,822 lbs).

In addition to the removable hardtop, the car ships with a cloth top stored in a special case in the cabin. Elsewhere, all novelty boils down to exclusive floor mats and a new key fob shaped like the roadster itself.

Everything else stays the same. This includes the engine, a 6.0-liter Mercedes-AMG V12 rated at 864 PS (852 hp / 635 kW) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission can be either manual or seven-speed Xtrac DCT. The top speed is artificially capped at 350 km/h (217 mph).

Pagani plans to produce a total of 130 Utopia roadsters, slightly more than coupes. Customization options are nearly limitless, which means the final price of every example is likely to climb well above the starting €3.1 million. One of the OEM options is called Sport Pack. It includes aerodynamic wheel covers, racing-grade tires, a performance exhaust system, lightweight seats and a titanium transmission lever.
