Peugeot 3008 DKR goes on sale poised to bring home up to €650k

A Dakar Rally vehicle once piloted by the legendary Sebastien Loeb will cross the auction block in Munich this month expected to fetch between €350,000 and €650,000. It is a diesel buggy called the Peugeot 3008 DKR, and it has taken part in other popular rallies as well.

The French automaker first sent multiple cars to the Dakar Rally six years ago (see video). The example on sale was piloted by Cyril Despres in its first track outing, but only scored bronze.

Later on, the vehicle was purchased by the private team called Peugeot PH Sport. It has mostly been driven by Khalid bin Sultan Al Qassimi over the next few years, bringing him some podium victories and the gold of the 2017 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.

A couple of years later, the Peugeot 3008 DKR once again hit the Dakar Rally track driven by Sebastien Loeb, but the acclaimed champion once again failed to win, coming third in the end.

The seller claims the buggy has undergone a recent restoration. It still has its original V6 turbo diesel under the hood, which sends 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels through a six-speed sequential transmission.
