Porsche 911 GT2 RS gets prepped for the track

Manhart has released some nice aftermarket options for the long-discontinued Porsche 911 GT2 RS (see video).

The car’s 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine received a tune-up from the original 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) to 980 PS (967 hp / 721 kW). It ended up with high-end turbos, a better air intake and a more efficient intercooler. The exhaust system ended up with sports-grade catalytic converters.

Changes were made in the PDK seven-speed transmission, most notably the clutch was replaced. Despite the added power, Manhart reckoned the car could go on using its standard carbon-ceramic brakes – the tests have shown that they are already efficient enough.

The entire suspension was rebuilt from scratch with almost everything either replaced or tuned, and low-profile tires made it onto new wheels sized 21” front and 22” rear.

Only minimal modifications were made in the interior. It now boasts a black Alcantara trim and branded floor mats, but that’s about it. On the outside, the car is immediately recognizable as a Manhart thanks to the tuner’s lettering all around, a carbon-fiber splitter, side skirts and spoiler.
