2025 Porsche Macan EV gains range and off-road capacity at a lower cost

Porsche has complemented the electric Macan lineup with a couple of new versions that you can already preorder in Europe.

The new entry-level spec uses the same motor on the rear axle as the Macan 4 EV. It delivers up to 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW) and 563 Nm (415 lb-ft) with launch control, dropping to 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) in normal driving mode.

While the dual-motor Macan 4 EV can sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph), the new single-motor version needs 5.7 seconds for the same exercise. On the upside, it weighs 110 kilos (242 lbs) less and covers 641 km (398 miles) per charge using the same 100-kWh battery. That’s 28 km (17.4 miles) more range than the AWD version. The top speed is capped at 220 km/h (136 mph).

And then there is the Macan 4S, which slots in between the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo. It packs two motors and sends 516 PS (509 hp / 380 kW) to the wheels along with up to 820 Nm (610 lb-ft) of torque. It reaches 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and can attain a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph). The Turbo version is still ahead with a 3.3-second sprint time.

Prices for the RWD Macan start from €80,700. The cheapest AWD variant can be ordered from €84,100.

One of the more interesting options comes in the form of a package called Off-road Design. It lends the SUV a more rugged appearance while also mildly enhancing its parameters – or so the company claims, at least. It includes new bumpers with imitated protection and a new air suspension control module that lifts the clearance by 10 mm to 195 mm (7.6 inches). As a result, this version of the SUV has a fairly decent approach angle of 17.4 degrees. A rugged front bumper is available separately.
