Renault Group boss Luca de Meo has officially announced leaving the company after just five years in office.
De Meo, who had previously been responsible for the Volkswagen Group’s Seat brand management, was the mastermind behind the successful Renaulution strategy. Simply put, Renaulution outlined a growth plan that prioritized net profits over production volumes. It involved a partial electrification of the Renault and Alpine brands, as well as an expansion of Dacia’s affordable vehicle lineup.
De Meo plans to leave his office at Renault Group on July 15 and become the head of Kering S.A., an international conglomerate specializing in luxury goods. In the meantime, Renault has yet to appoint a replacement.
