Rumor: 4th-gen Kia Ceed for Europe is a rebadged K4

According to l’Argus reporting from France, the fourth iteration of Kia Ceed will no longer be a standalone model. Instead, it will be a badge-engineered version of the Kia K4 hatchback recently introduced in the USA (see the gallery and the video).

The publication claims that Kia plans to offer the K4 in Europe in a variety of new trim levels and powertrain configurations, so it shouldn’t be a complete clone. In particular, the company is allegedly bringing the 1.0-liter T-GDI to the Old World markets, as well as all hybrid options currently available. In the States, the K4 can be obtained with a 1.6-liter turbo four-pot or a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated mill.

The five-door car is expected to arrive in the showrooms across Europe in 2026, so there’s still some time for the automaker to confirm or debunk these rumors.
