Tuner flaunts “indestructible” Tesla wheels

Unplugged Performance, a company famous for making all kinds of upgrades for Elon Musk’s electric vehicles, has released a rather intriguing wheel set for the Model 3 sedan and the Model Y crossover.

Billed by its vendor as the world’s first indestructible wheels, no less, the UP Forged Warrior Wheels are said to be immune to collisions with curbs. They also support up to 950 kilos (2,094 lbs) of load per wheel and come with a warranty that promises timely replacement in the unlikely event of damage. A single 19-inch forged wheel weighs in at 10.7 kilos (23.54 lbs), and the 20-inch version tips the scales at 11.8 kilos (25.96 lbs).

The company also points out excellent aerodynamic performance, but without any numbers to back it up. For the finish, matte-black spokes and grey rims as seen here is your only option right now.

The 19-inch set is listed for $2,595 and the 20-inch one for $2,995. Both prices seem to be per set, rather than per wheel, which is surprisingly affordable given all the marketing claims.
