This extreme all-electric ATV can be yours, but not for cheap

U.S.-based automaker Vanderhall has opened preorders for the Brawley GTS, a fully electric off-road machine it introduced four years ago. The vehicle ended up costing whopping 42% more than originally promised, even with a disappointingly small battery pack.

According to Carscoops, the non-street-legal all-terrain vehicle starts from $50,000 instead of the original estimate of $35,000. Making things worse is the fact that it comes bundled with a 40-kWh battery pack. The larger 60-kWh pack announced in 2021 never made it into the list of options. With this kind of power storage, the charge goes from full to zero after OEM-rated 225 kilometers (140 miles). We wouldn’t be surprised to learn that this is a conservative estimate for the more careful drivers and mild off-road conditions, either.

Design-wise, the Vanderhall Brawley GTS resembles the modern Jeep SUVs with its headlights and grille. It features a two-door cab with four seats, leather upholstery and large glass sections in the lower doors. Just how practical those are remains to be seen, but the originality is there.

The ATV was originally announced in September 2020, but took its time to arrive due to numerous production hurdles, the company admits.
