Toyota Land Cruiser remains Japan’s most stolen vehicle
The Land Cruiser has been the thieves’ most desirable vehicle in Japan for four years now.
Back in 2023, 14.7 out of every 100 cars stolen in the country were Land Cruiser SUVs. This number skyrocketed to 27.5 out of 100 in the following year, essentially meaning that every fourth car stolen in Japan now is a Land Cruiser.
In absolute terms, it still comes to a relatively tame 688 units stolen in a year. Crime levels are comparatively low in Japan.
It’s also worth mentioning that the country’s top-10 list of most stolen cars consists entirely of Toyota and Lexus models.
