China’s biggest minivan goes on sale

Great Wall’s Wey sub-brand has opened its pre-order books for a limited edition of its large Gaoshan MPV. Known as ‘Executive Extended’, it is being advertised as China’s longest and most spacious minivan ever.

Compared to the stock version, the Executive Extended is 360 mm (14 inches) longer and has a wheelbase extended by the same amount, hence the name. It is 5,405 mm (211.1 inches) long and has a six-seat cabin 3,823 mm (149.3 inches) long.

A peek inside reveals three rows of two seats each. Every seat supports heating, ventilation and individual adjustments. The rear row occupants get a separate infotainment display for themselves.

Unconfirmed reports claim that the EE will run the same engines as the standard Gaoshan. The latter (shown in the video here) has an IC engine rated at 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) and an electric motor adding 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) of its own. The purely electric range amounts to 175 km (108 miles).
