At the recent auto show in Osaka, Wald International unveiled a rather wild-looking body kit for the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 250 Series. The modifications are so extensive they make the SUV look a bit like a G-Wagen from Brabus.
The tuning kit is known as the Desert Series Black Bison Edition. It comprises a new front end with reshaped air intakes, extra DRLs and a metal skid plate. The hood gets an air scoop, and the roof receives an aerodynamic bar with more lights in it.
The side view is especially intimidating with its aggressively flared fenders and wheels shod in mud tires. When it announced the tuning last year, Wald said it would be making two distinct versions of it – for the wilderness and for the road. The Land Cruiser that premiered at the show was supposedly more on the off-road side of things; you can find the other version at the end of the gallery below and compare for yourself.
Controversial styling continues at the rear end with a new bumper, diffuser, purely ornamental fender vents and rear wing slapped on top of the OEM spoiler. Lifted suspension makes us believe it’s supposed to look like an off-roader first, but the kit is neither here nor there. It is eye-catching, though, so it’s not hard to imagine it becoming popular in Japan.
