Acura has yet to unveil the ZDX – its first fully electric SUV – but it is already official that the model will be available for purchase on the Internet and nowhere else.
The manufacturer published a handful of test vehicle shots last month, saying it was inspired by the futuristic Precision EV Concept (see video). It neglected to mention any drivetrain details. What we do know is that the marque’s first EV comes based on the General Motors Ultium architecture supporting battery sizes from 50 to 200 kilowatt-hours.
The same platform powers the Honda Prologue, which is set to hit pre-sales in late 2023. It is unknown whether Honda will follow Acura’s example and make it an online-only car, though.
