Zacoe redefines modern BMW M2 with a styling upgrade

When the 2016 BMW 750d xDrive came out, it packed a very special six-cylinder, quad-turbo diesel engine model capable of 400 hp (298 kW) along with 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque. An informed source now says BMW plans to axe this spec in mid-summer 2020.
The alleged reason is that the unit proved too complex and expensive to build, despite all optimization efforts. The 5 Series sedan/saloon and estate/wagon will be the first to say goodbye to the overcomplicated mill, followed by the 7 Series (standard, then LWB), then the X5 M50d, the X6 M50d, and ultimately the X7 M50d.
The Bavarian company proudly claims that its diesel engine is the strongest V6 of its kind in the entire world. Powered by it, the M550d hits 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in just 4.4 seconds, and the bulkier 750d in 4.6 s. The source claims that no replacement is coming for the spec, meaning that the 40d line with its 320 horsepower (238 kW) will be the strongest diesel-powered BMW on offer soon.
