The Chevrolet Trailblazer has a twin sibling named the Buick Encore GX. Both utility vehicles run on the same tech, but look different and offer different options. Both sell well in the United States, but the Encore GX inches out a small advantage. It has now been updated for model year 2024.
On the outside, the Buick logo is new and so is the shark-nose front end with its two-tier headlights. Also, for the first time on record, the SUV gets a deluxe trim level called Avenir.
Inside, the dash gauges are no longer analog. Even in the base spec, there is an 8-inch display replacing them. The infotainment screen measures 11 inches across (up from 8), and the heads-up display is no longer present.
Things stay unchanged on the drivetrain front. Buyers can still choose between a three-cylinder turbo engine rated at 139 PS (137 hp / 102 kW) and its slightly boosted counterpart with 157 PS (155 hp / 115 kW) at the output end. Going for the front-wheel drive nets you a CVT, while AWD comes bundled with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Live sales in the United States are scheduled for May 2023.
