A rare 1990 Chevy 454 SS with as little as 14 kilometers (9 miles) on the clock and OEM wraps on the seats will cross the auction block in January next year. There are no price estimates.
The original truck was released 34 years ago as a potential leader of the sporty pickup segment of the market. To that end, Chevrolet endowed it with a 7.44-liter Big Block V8 making 230 PS (227 hp / 169 kW) and 521 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. A three-speed automatic transmission sent the torque to the rear wheels.
The suspension received Bilstein shocks and a heavy-duty sway bar at the rear end. Aside from that, the truck rode on exclusive 15-inch wheels and benefited from an improved steering mechanism. It even had sport seats inside.
The seller claims that the car was originally purchased as a collector’s item. Judging by its manufacturing year, it was among the first produced examples. The owner allegedly kept it in a climate-controlled room with its original tire set and protective stickers on the dashboard.
