Italian niche automaker De Tomaso is back in business with a new supercar laconically named the P72. Only 72 units will be shipped starting in 2023, but in the meantime, check out a sky-blue prototype that visited Concorso di Eleganza Villa d’Este this year.
The coupe juxtaposes its light blue exterior with white quilted leather on the seats inside. The interior trim scheme also involves etched aluminum inserts in the steering wheel hub and around the dashboard. The same accents can be found on the gear lever.
When it debuted around three years ago, the P72 came powered by a Ford F8 rated at 710 PS (700 hp / 522 kW) and 825 Nm (608 lb-ft) of torque. The company had originally planned to manufacture it and its other future cars in the United States, but Covid saw the production site moved to Germany.
