Few other cars are as popular among Australian tuning enthusiasts as the Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo with its easy-to-boost Barra six-cylinder normally rated at 442 PS (436 hp / 325 kW). This example lacks the Barra engine, but has plenty of thrust to compensate for that.
The mill used in this swap is an easy pick: an LS V8 fitted with a single giant turbo. Falcon purists may feel upset, but there is no denying that the Chevrolet engine can be taken to even greater heights than the inline-six the car originally had.
In the video posted on YouTube by fullBoost, the tuner increases the boost pressure until the dyno registers 890 PS (877 hp / 655 kW) at the rear axle. The wheels can be seen spinning, though, so he transfers the car to a hub dyno and continues the process until he gets a record-breaking 1,120 PS (1,105 hp / 824 kW) at 1.44 Bar of pressure.
On the outside, you will only recognize the tuned Falcon by its aftermarket rear spoiler, wheels clad in meaty tires, and Brembo brakes.
