Ford dealerships in Europe will soon start taking orders for a new Ranger truck version. Called the MS-RT, it looks much sportier and has minor cabin improvements, but doesn’t mess with the powertrain or chassis.
New fenders make the truck 81 mm (3.2 inches) wide than stock. A new bumper at the front comes equipped with a pronounced splitter and a large air intake. The radiator grille is likewise new and sports a honeycomb pattern. Side moldings and a different rear bumper are also included.
There are two new spoilers as well – one on the cab itself and the other one on the tailgate. 21-inch alloy rims in the arches are finished in dark grey and wrapped in Continental tires. The side mirror caps and door handles are offset in black.
Inside, there is a new steering wheel with a blue zero-hour mark, as well as seats trimmed with eco-leather and Alcantara with some blue stitching for contrast.
Even in its simplest trim version, the new Ford Ranger MS-RT is very well equipped. It has steering wheel heating, two-zone climate control, surround-view cameras and a 12-inch multimedia display, among other things.
A 3.0-liter diesel V6 still churns out 326 PS (322 hp / 240 kW) to the wheels. Starting in September, MS-RT will add a 40mm (1.6-inch) suspension lowering kit to the list of available options.
