Honda N-One receives Mugen treatment

One would think Kei cars and motorsports are two things that never, ever get together, but Honda actually ships its second-gen N-One subcompact van in a “hot” RS version, complete with new 15-inch wheels, original décor and – for the first time on record – a six-speed manual gearbox. No wonder Mugen decided to tune it a bit further from this point.

The Japanese tuner endows the wannabe sports van with a front bumper insert, side sill extensions, aluminum forged wheels sized 15”, assorted decals and a larger rear spoiler. Interior options include cloth mats, pedal pads and a gear stick knob finished in leather, carbon or aluminum.

The air filter throughput has been increased and a sports stainless-steel exhaust system added at the rear end. Titanium and carbon fiber exhaust tips are available at a premium. The 0.66L turbo engine stays stock and continues to churn out 64 hp (47 kW).

The Kei car begins from 1,599,400 Yen. Mugen FR8 wheels wrapped in 165/55 R15 tires will set you back another 264,000, the body kit another 123,200, and the exhaust system between 88,000 and 137,500 Yen depending on the chosen tip finish. Sales in Japan have already started, and other countries won’t be getting any of the parts.
