Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg has found a creative way to keep its employees occupied in summertime: the company has just released a short, but action-packed movie titled Time to Reign.
The name is far from coincidental, because “Regera” stands for “reign”. The plot follows a woman named Veronica from Monte Carlo, who pleads CEO Christian von Koenigsegg to sell her the last unit in the production batch of 80 Regeras. He refuses, because this last car actually belong to him.
Veronica resolves to stealing the car and enlists the help of a criminal gang from Reykjavik. Anticipating this, Mr. Koenigsegg entrusts a military force called Ghost Squadron with guarding the vehicle. This name is no coincidence, either: in early 2000s, the automaker had suffered major losses from a fire and had to move into a building where the Swedish Air Force’s Johan Röd division resided. The air fighter pilots painted ghosts on their Saab AJS37 Viggen planes, inspiring Koenigsegg to incorporate that image into their own badge.
Not too shabby for a cinematic debut, eh?
