Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo evolves for the second time

The original Lamborghini Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo was born out of a collaboration with Dallara Engineering and debuted at the Pebble Beach show seven years ago to succeed the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo. A new version called Evo broke cover in 2017 with a new body kit and other improvements, and now, Evo2 comes in to replace it.

The car will enter a single-make tournament next year. The Squadra Corse subdivision and Centro Stile designers paid special attention to its appearance and aerodynamics, making sure the Evo2 gives you an idea of what all future road-legal Lambos will look like.

Modified exterior elements include headlights, air intakes, bumpers, ground effects, fenders, exhaust tips, and the rear diffuser. Many plastic parts were swapped out for carbon fiber ones, and a giant carbon rear wing remained the dominant feature. The brakes were upscaled somewhat, too.

Powering the supercar is its old 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 still capable of 620 PS (611 hp / 456 kW) in conjunction with an X-Trac six-speed sequential transmission and rear-wheel drive system.

950 contenders have participated in the Super Trofeo single-make cup over the past 12 years, having driven the world’s most famous racetracks for over 310 hours in total. Lamborghini sold its 400th Huracan racecar last month, and the coming of the Evo2 should eventually raise that number to 500.

Prices begin at €250,000, just a pinch above the road-legal Lamborghini Huracan STO. Owners of the first-generation Evo model will be able to trade their cars in for the Evo2 in early 2022, but specifics and pricing remain unannounced.
