German automotive company Elektron has unveiled a prototype hypercar named the Quasar, Auto Motor und Sport reports. It is set to debut with all the details later this year and get a production run capped at 99 examples priced from €2,200,000.
Armağan Arabul, of Turkish origins, founded Elektron Motors in Stuttgart, Germany in 2021. He first name-dropped the Quasar model four years ago, but hasn’t shown us anything except virtual 3D renderings yet.
The design of the car envisions it with a quartet of electric motors driving the wheels with a combined 2,400 PS (2,367 hp / 1,765 kW). That’s a step up from the previously announced 2,300 PS (2,269 hp / 1,692 kW). Outfitted like this, the coupe should be able to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 1.65 seconds and reach 450 km/h (280 mph).
Shipments are planned to the United States, Canada, CIS countries, the Middle East, India, and Northern Africa. It’s worth noting that the company is still looking for dealerships to represent it in these regions.
