Four-Pots Aren’t a Problem: Brabus tunes a modern AMG trio

Many Mercedes-AMG cars have traded their V8s for hybridized four-cylinder engines in the latest generation, but Brabus still found a way to boost them to 700 horsepower and beyond.

Starting with the new C-Class and GLC, both received 50 PS (50 hp / 37 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque thanks to an upgrade kit called Brabus 730. As you have guessed, the resulting output is rated at 730 PS (720 hp / 537 kW). The torque isn’t too shabby, either, at 1,120 Nm (826 lb-ft). The C-Class sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds with this tune-up, and the bulky GLC is only one-tenth of a second slower.

And then there’s the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 tuned to the Brabus 750 spec. It pumps out 750 PS (740 hp / 552 kW) and hits 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. Unlike the two models mentioned above, it needs some hardware modifications in addition to the ECU remap to get there. These include new turbos and a high-flow exhaust system.

Further options for those interested include body kit parts, wheels and suspension upgrades. All prices are available upon request only, but a ready-made Brabus 750 AMG GT is listed on the tuner’s website right now for the equivalent of U.S. $334,527.
