A 2008 Spyker C8 Spyder, one out of only 121 such sports cars ever made by the Netherlands-based manufacturer, will cross the auction block in late January 2023. There are no price estimations, but the car has a rare exterior/cabin finish combo and only around 1,300 km (800 miles) on the odo.
The C8 was the first production car of the Spyker brand following its revival in 1999. Back in the early 20th century, the marque was known as a car and airplane manufacturer. The aeronautical past of Spyker found an implementation in its car design after its comeback.
The C8 on sale sports a plane-like silhouette with unconventional air intakes at the rear end and a novel interior adorned with corrugated aluminum inserts. The analog dash gauges and the switches sport green backlighting like some plane controls do, and the optional four-spoke wheel installed resembles a crossed pair of propellers.
The seller claims that only four vehicles left the factory with a yellow exterior and a black leather cabin with yellow stitching.
Powering the exotic is a 4.2-liter Audi engine mated to a Getrag six-speed manual transmission. The output is estimated at 400 PS (394 hp; 294 kW).
