Subaru has released some photos of a new version of its Levorg wagon, called Layback. The company will open the pre-order books on September 7, 2023.
Judging by the images, the new version will be styled in the same vein as the Subaru Outback, i.e., with a greater emphasis on off-road performance compared to the standard model (see video). The company had actually hinted at it already, presenting the car as a ‘unique crossover’.
Notable details include extra ground clearance, revised radiator grille and front bumper, side sills and new wheels.
The drivetrain is still a mystery, but the stock Levorg utilizes a 1.8-liter flat-four mill rated at 177 PS (173 hp / 130 kW) and a 2.4-liter engine capable of 275 PS (271 hp / 202 kW).
